When to call us
- You have moved into a property with an uncertain key history.
- Keys are missing and you are concerned about continued access.
- A worn or damaged lock needs replacement rather than repair.
- You want to discuss a suitable upgrade alongside a planned change.
A cylinder change and a full mechanism are different jobs
On a compatible door, replacing the euro cylinder changes the keyed component without necessarily replacing the multipoint mechanism. If the handle or locking mechanism has failed, a cylinder alone may not solve the problem. Describe both the reason for the change and any existing stiffness so the quote addresses the whole issue.
Plan access before a move-in change
List the entrances you control and distinguish them from communal doors. If a landlord or managing agent is responsible for an entrance, arrange the necessary permission before booking. Call 020 3519 9290 with the postcode, number of locks and preferred appointment arrangements; hardware requirements affect what can be completed in one visit.
What happens next
- Identify which locks need changing
Describe each door and say whether you have working keys. A front door with a nightlatch and a separate mortice lock involves different hardware from a door operated by one euro cylinder.
- Choose compatible replacements
The existing fittings and door condition guide the options. Suitable British Standard locks or anti-snap cylinders can be discussed where appropriate, with a clear quote before work begins.
- Check everyday operation
The replacement needs to work with the door, not just fit its opening. Check locking, unlocking and the way the door closes, and ask about anything unfamiliar before the job ends.
