Identify the door your business controls
A fault at an internal office door and a fault at the main building entrance may need different approvals. Give the building address and door location, and explain who will meet the locksmith. Area coverage does not imply permission to enter restricted premises; any site access arrangements need to be agreed by the people responsible for the building.
Describe the effect on opening and closing
If staff cannot open the premises, say whether the key will turn and whether the handle operates normally. If the business cannot lock up, make that clear at the beginning of the call. A frequently used lock may need repair or replacement, but door alignment and fittings should be considered before assuming that new keyed hardware is the solution.
Prepare for a planned lock change
For a change of authorised access, list the doors concerned, the working keys available and the preferred appointment arrangements. Keep communal doors separate from those controlled by your business. Call 020 3519 9290 to discuss the requirement and availability. PrimeKey London provides a quote before work starts; the scope and any necessary replacement hardware need to be clear to the approving contact.
Choose the help you need
Before you call
Have your postcode ready and explain whether the door opens, whether the key turns and whether you can secure the property. For shared buildings, tell us about concierge arrangements. An adult authorised to request the work should be available.
We discuss availability and the quotation before proceeding. Read our guide to locksmith quotes for the questions worth asking.
