Tell us about the deadline, without relying on a fixed arrival
If you have a train to catch or must leave a property unattended, mention the timing at the start of the call. It helps explain the situation, but does not establish a guaranteed appointment or arrival time. Ask about current availability and make arrangements for an authorised person to be present if your plans may change.
Missing keys raise two separate questions
Getting through a closed door restores access; it does not resolve uncertainty about who might hold the missing keys. A working nightlatch may not need replacing simply to gain entry, while a subsequent lock change may still be appropriate. Explain whether the keys are inside, lost elsewhere or no longer in your control so both questions can be considered.
Do not overlook a troublesome office entrance
For an office or other frequently used entrance, report whether the lock fails at opening time, during the day or when securing the premises. Repeated stiffness and a door that no longer closes cleanly call for assessment, not guesswork about the cylinder. Call 020 3519 9290 with the postcode and responsible contact. PrimeKey London quotes before work starts.
Choose the help you need
Before you call
Have your postcode ready and explain whether the door opens, whether the key turns and whether you can secure the property. For shared buildings, tell us about concierge arrangements. An adult authorised to request the work should be available.
We discuss availability and the quotation before proceeding. Read our guide to locksmith quotes for the questions worth asking.
