When to call us
- The front door has closed with your keys inside.
- A key has snapped or will no longer turn in the lock.
- The handle moves, but the door will not open.
- You can get inside, but cannot lock the entrance before leaving.
A shut door is not always a broken lock
A nightlatch can leave you outside even when the mechanism is working. A mortice lock that has seized presents a different problem. Describe what happened immediately before access was lost; you do not need to identify the model. Avoid forcing the key or handle, which can add damage to the original fault.
Know what can be confirmed on the call
Your address, access situation and description help establish the next step. A final diagnosis may need inspection. Attendance depends on the address, traffic and current workload; 24/7 emergency support is not a fixed arrival-time promise. Ask what the quote includes and whether replacement hardware may be necessary.
What happens next
- Explain the access problem
Say whether the door is simply shut or was locked with a key. Mention any shared entrance, reception arrangements or permission needed to access the property. Ask about current attendance availability.
- Assess the lock and agree the quote
The lock type and condition determine the options. Non-destructive entry is preferred where possible, and the proposed work is explained with a quote before it starts.
- Resolve entry and security together
Getting inside may not resolve a damaged lock or missing keys. Discuss whether repair or replacement is needed so you understand how the door will be secured afterwards.
